Have some fun this weekend!

I'm so sorry about not posting this week, but the weather here just can't seem to make up it's mind and because of that I have been suffering from a sinus infection.  I'm doing much better now though and decided to share some photos from this past weekend.

Though it has been quite warm for this time of year, it doesn't bother me as much because it's also still so beautiful.  Daniel, myself and our good friend Kelley took our pups out to our favorite dog park.  It was Daisy's first trip and she had no trouble keeping up with the bigger dogs.  I swear sometimes she thinks she's just as big and Zoe and Sunny.

Of course Zoe was mostly focused on her ball, as per usual.

And I was more focused on our beautiful surroundings.  Can you blame me?

We're getting another big cold front in a few days and I'm crossing my fingers that my sinuses don't suffer so much this time.

Have a great weekend everyone!  :)

P.S.  Those of you that ask, I usually take my photos on my android phone because it's much easier to carry around with me rather than my Nikon.  And I edit using instagram.  Hope that helps!

Monday Mischief

Someone is very confused!  This is technically Zoe's first Christmas Tree, at least in our home and it's currently in the same spot that her bed usually is.  I didn't put the tree up last year because I was worried about Zoe destroying it, but now that she is almost 2 she has earned my trust over the past year.

She has been trying to figure out how to lie on the tree skirt and instead figured out how to turn the tree lights on and off by hitting the foot tapper extension cord with her paws.  She does at least alert me when our cat Skyler is trying to play with the ornaments.

"I promise I won't eat the Christmas Tree!"

I don't know if I should trust that face.  Would you?

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving / weekend!

Let's go for a walk!

It's starting to feel a bit more like fall here lately, with lower temps and some much needed rain.  Yesterday, I decided Zoe and I would enjoy the beautiful day by taking a long walk.

We stopped at the bayou for a minute to enjoy the cool breeze and the sun on our faces.

Once we were deep into the neighborhood we saw lots of brown, yellow and red leaves.  When Zoe was a puppy she used to chase after all the falling leaves in our courtyard.

Now she just prefers to roll in them.  Either way, she looks happy doing what she loves to do.

It's supposed to stay like this all week and believe me, this is the kind of weather we welcome in Southeast Texas.  I only wish we had a nice fireplace for these cold nights.

I hope y'all are having a wonderful week.  :)

Daisy Mae

Meet Daisy, (Daisy Mae Hayes) my friend's new puppy, isn't she a doll?  This past Tuesday I went with my friend Kelley to CAP (Citizens for Animal Protection), she has been talking about getting a puppy for her and Sunny for a while now, and I'm so glad she finally found "the one."

She just adores her big sister Sunny.  Though, who wouldn't?

I'm amazed by how gentle Zoe is with her too.  At first sight Zoe would lay on the ground and put her head all the way down to let the puppy know she is in no danger.  That's something Zoe has always done when she first meets another dog.  She's so submissive hehe.

I'm so happy for my friend and this new chapter in her life.  Sunny will train her well and teach her so many great things as she did for my Zoe.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Enjoy your weekend!

It's been a little warm here the past few days but that hasn't stopped us from spending a lot of time outdoors in the courtyard.  It won't be long till the next cold front comes in, so until then we don't mind enjoying some fun in the sun.

Zoe's best gal pal, Sunny.

Oh, and some of the trees in the courtyard are starting to look so beautiful with their Autumn colors.

Have a great weekend!

Have a ball this weekend!

We're so excited for this weekend because it's going to be a cold one!  Now, if only we had a fireplace to curl up next to.

Have a great weekend!

Have a tail wagging weekend!

I was moving over a bunch of old videos and photos from one computer to another and I came across a video of Zoe that is maybe almost a year old.  This video puts a big smile on my face because this is a typical welcome home greeting from Zoe.  I know this is a common trait for most retriever breeds, but it just never gets old when we come home to a full body wagging pup who also insists on baring gifts in her mouth.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Monday Mischief

Did you have a good weekend?  I bet if Zoe could tell you about her weekend, she'd tell you about all the time she spent at the Bark Park.

Though she is only focused on one thing, playing fetch.  It's funny how serious she becomes once we enter the main gate and unleash her.  Her eyes are on her ball at all times, and it's as if the other dogs don't even exist to her once inside.

I'm sure Zoe thinks "it just doesn't get much better than this."  She could play fetch and swim all day, every day if we let her.    After spending 2 and half hours of doing just that, she was pooped and slept in the back seat of the car on the 20 minute drive home.

Monday Mischief

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, we spent most of ours outside since the weather was incredible.  This is without a doubt my favorite time of year.  No more humidity or 100+ degree days.

My neighbors and I took our dogs out to a near by lake that is walking distance from our apartment complex.  Zoe and Hendrix ( her favorite pitbull ever ) usually spend most of their time playing "keep away" with the biggest stick they can find.

When and if one of us can eventually get it away from them, we give it a good toss in the lake.  I love how they both insist on carrying it back together.  Though sometimes Zoe doesn't exactly play fair.  I caught her using her paw to knock the stick out of Hendrix's mouth a few times.  Such a stinker!

These cooler temps sure do seem to give our dogs a boost of energy.  Even Sunny, the 12 year old Golden Retriever, had quite a bit of pep in her step.

The mischief is really mine for not leaving any updates the last few weeks.  After a short vacation, I had trouble getting back into the swing of things regarding this blog.  I promise to start posting during the week again.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Welcome

Hi, I'm Alison and I have an 1 year old black lab mix named Zoe. She was found wandering around by herself near a highway at just 5 weeks old. While her story begins sad, she has had nothing short of a spoiled, happy and healthy life since coming home with me and my boyfriend.
